Jake Hosszu: Boys Hockey

Junior hockey player Jake Hosszu started skating around age three and joined a hockey team when he was four. Since then, hockey has not only been important to him for athletic purposes but for social purposes as well. “A reason [hockey] plays such an important role in my life is all of the friends and bonds I’ve been able to make through playing the game,” Hosszu said. This year his goal is to help the team both in games and in practice in order to make it to state; “my role on the team is very similar to all of the other guys, which consists of working hard to help make the guys around you better, as well as just playing hard and doing my specific jobs on the ice,” he said. Hosszu is not the only one on the team working to better himself and his team during practice leading to success in games. The players work hard to do well in games, but music also plays an important part in their readiness to play. “Pump music before games really involves a lot of different rap songs that can get the boys fired up,” Hosszu said. For his fourth year of high school hockey, Jake Hosszu aims to push his team and himself hard enough to make it to state.
