The gym foyer is covered by plastic sheets, blocking from the construction. “It smells like wood and it is kinda noisy, but as long as we keep the doors closed by the sophomore benches, I don’t think anyone notices it too much,” sophomore Lauren Hansen said.

As the Huss center for Performing Arts construction begins to wind down, there is one more important step that needs to be taken: the connection of the current St. Paul Academy and Summit School building to the Huss Center.

As construction comes into the school building, students are affected. Students are encouraged to clean out their athletic lockers, as the athletic hallway and locker room area is a main location of the connection. All items still in a locker as of Jun. 5 will be collected and donated.

Another, more recent development, is the construction area around the Gym Foyer. Beginning the week of May 18, the foyer area was closed off, besides the stairwell connecting the upper and lower levels of the school. “It smells like wood and it is kinda noisy, but as long as we keep the doors closed by the sophomore benches, I don’t think anyone notices it too much,” sophomore Lauren Hansen said.

The Huss Center will be finished in time for the 2015-16 school year, and students will be coming back for the new year to a new school environment. “It will be weird to see the change, but I know it will look nice,” Hansen said.
