The United girls hockey team is doing their second annual “Lace up” for a good cause. This year the team will Lace Up for Leukemia.

“We have been planning for this all year,” senior captain Bridget Hoffman said, “We try to raise money for a good cause [every year]. Last year it was Lace Up for Lymphoma, this year we are raising money for leukemia.”

The team has taken multiple steps to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma society of Minnesota. For the last week they have been selling t-shirts and baseball caps promoting the event along with setting up a bake sale outside the lunch room.

The United team will take on the Breck Mustangs at Drake Arena. The United team’s current standing is 18-2-1, but they sit in 3rd place in the IMAC conference due to a lone loss against Blake. Tonight’s game will be pivotal in their ranking as Black stands at 2nd place in the conference.

Update: United lost to Breck, 2-4.
