Debate team heads to nationals after state tournament

At the University of Minnesota, two Spartan debate team competed at the state debate tournament on Jan. 12-13. Through victories and losses, both teams progress to nationals.
TEAM EFFORT. Club leader Bennett Sauer and club members Ava Doody and Leif Rush sit together in the design lab as Sauer work at deconstructing one of the mainframes for the go-kart. Doody and Rush watch Sauer exchange tools to work on the frame as they discuss what to do next in the creation process.

Go-karts? No problem for Engineering Club.

The club is in the process of building two raceable go-karts.
3-2 VICTORY. The Phoenix breaks the tie by scoring one more point with 4.5 minutes remaining during over-time. Oxborough scored and helped the team took a 3:2 victory home. Just being able to come back from that and score is really exciting. The team just felt a lot of energy after, playing a lot of music in the locker room which was super fun, Meza said.
