The boys varsity soccer team defeated Trinity 4-0 last Saturday. “Trinity was a pretty solid team, but we managed to put four goals past them and extend our win streak to four games. I think it highlighted a lot of good things for our team that we can continue to work going deeper into the season,” Junior Milo Waltenbaugh said.

“The team had a great result against on Saturday,” Junior striker Milo Waltenbaugh said, “Trinity was a pretty solid team, but we managed to put four goals past them and extend our win streak to four games. I think it highlighted a lot of good things for our team that we can continue to work going deeper into the season.”

Dominant is a word that would best describe the boys varsity soccer team’s performance against Trinity this past Saturday. While maintaining the vast majority of possession and giving the opposing goalie too many shots on goal to handle, the Spartans looked like a force to be reckoned with. Senior captain, Peter Wilson, started the scoring in the first half with a penalty kick that set the momentum in the right direction for the Spartans. This was followed by a free kick from sophomore, Leo Larsen, who extended the lead to 2-0. In the second half Junior Milo Waltenbaugh buried a goal in the back of the net to give SPA a three goal lead. Finally, 9th grader, Cooper Bollinger-Danielson capped off the day with a goal to put the Spartans up 4-0.

The boys varsity soccer team plays their next game on Sep. 21 against Fridley at Lang field.
